The worms start off in the first working tray in the bedding block provided. When this tray is full you add the next working tray with kitchen scraps and they eat their way up, wriggling through the perforated base into the working tray above. By the time the third working tray is full most of the worms will have left the original tray where they began. You can now take out this tray, remove the compost and return it to the top again.

Can-O-Worms

A continuous cycle of composting that is so simple to use. You will always have a convenient, natural and efficient way to dispose of your food waste, while at the same time ensuring a constant supply of your very own top quality fertiliser.

Why compost with worms in a Can-O-Worms wormery?

Can-O-Worms
  • The Can-O-Worms is neat and compact, it can be used in the smallest of places – you don’t even need a garden!
  • Wormeries don’t need to live at the other end of the garden like big conventional composters – place the Can-O-Worms close to the house for convenience.
  • Composting with worms in a Can-O-Worms is odour-free, simple to use and easy to manage.
  • Wormeries compost small amounts on a regular basis, all year-round.
  • The Can-O-Worms is fully enclosed and raised off the ground so unwanted rodents are kept out.
  • Worms will eat anything that has lived and died. Veg, fruit, pasta, cereals even most cooked waste – many people don’t like putting these in conventional composters because of smells and vermin.
  • Worms will eat about half their own body-weight in waste per day. A fully operational Can-O-Worms can contain 3-4kg of worms – so that’s a lot of waste they can eat each week!
  • Vermicompost, the product that the worms make from your kitchen waste, is a highly nutritious fertiliser for your garden and house plants. The layered design of the Can-O-Worms makes harvesting this compost very easy.
  • Fishermen can have a small, steady supply of worms for bait.
  • Composting with worms is fun and educational for all the family.
